The concluded assessment marked a pivotal phase in defining opportunities for the implementation of S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition (PCE) within ENI, focusing on the global SAP solution named Format for the upstream process finance solution with Joint Venture Accounting (JVA). This comprehensive assessment spanned various crucial dimensions, laying the groundwork for a transformative 36-month project encompassing 150 subsidiaries globally.

1. Scope Definition:

The project initiated with a meticulous scope definition, outlining the specific areas of enhancement within ENI's SAP landscape. This involved a detailed analysis of the upstream process finance solution with JVA, covering key modules such as Plant Maintenance, Finance and JVA, Material Management, Workflow, and HR Employee Central.

2. Migration and Upgrade Strategies:

Strategies for migration and system upgrade were intricately designed to facilitate a smooth transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. The Selective Data Transition approach was employed, ensuring a phased and optimized conversion process that minimized disruptions to ongoing operations.

3. Workshop Preparation:

To foster stakeholder alignment and understanding, extensive workshop preparation was undertaken. Tailored sessions were conducted to engage key personnel across various business units, aligning them with the impending changes and garnering valuable insights to inform the project's direction.

4. Architectural Definition:

A robust architectural framework was defined, ensuring that the S/4HANA PCE deployment aligned seamlessly with ENI's business objectives. This involved considerations for scalability, performance optimization, and alignment with global best practices.

5. RISE Business Case:

The project incorporated a comprehensive RISE business case, strategically aligning with SAP's RISE with SAP offering. This approach aimed at delivering an integrated and scalable solution while maximizing the benefits of SAP's latest technologies.

A preliminary project plan was meticulously crafted, outlining the phased approach for the 36-month initiative. Multiple waves of deployment were identified, each strategically planned to minimize business disruption while maximizing the overall efficiency of the S/4HANA implementation.
