    Alt News, an Indian non-profit fact-checking website, was founded in 2017. In 2022, the Peace Research Institute Oslo recognized Alt News as a deserving contender for a prize aimed at tackling religious extremism and intolerance in India.

  • Produced 600+ high-impact fact-check reports (2019–2023) combating political and communal disinformation, with findings cited by major outlets like The Wire and Deccan Herald, Led 120+ exclusive investigations
  • Debunked 550+ viral videos/images using geolocation, reverse image search, and keyword search.
  • Fact-checked 282 false claims by politicians, revealing an 81.7% prevelance  rate among BJP leaders.
  • Exposed 200+ anti-Muslim narratives (halal conspiracies, love jihad tropes) and 150+ anti-minority campaigns targeting Dalits/Christians through forensic linguistic analysis.

    Open-Source Investigations

    Reporting on several human rights violations as part of an investigative journalists' collective from Europe and India — Amra Dorjbayar, Archit Mehta, Ben Heubl, Brecht Castel, Kalim Ahmed, and Alberto Olivieri. We worked on a series of OSINT investigations from April 2022 to February 2023. Our work was published in the UK-based Centre for Information Resilience and the Belgium-based magazine Knack.

    Formed in 1995 Wildlife SOS rescues and rehabilitates wildlife in distress and preserves India’s natural heritage.
