Venue Operations - Key Projects

LED Conversion

Led the changeover of conventional lighting equipment in the lobby and common spaces from the building's construction to LED technology while preserving the aesthetic look of the spaces. This made the facility considerably more energy efficient, easier to maintain, and modernized.

Security Cameras

Led the replacement and re-wiring of the security camera system to a state of the art Ubiquiti monitoring system. Performed system design duties. Placed all cameras. Acts as administrator for this system.

Digital Signage

Replaced outdated equipment and added to the digital signage in the building to better promote upcoming productions and building services. Performed system design duties using BrightAuthor / BrightSign equipment. Coordinated with vendors on equipment installation. Installed new street-facing monitors that became the neighborhood's first large scale digital advertising system.

Theatrical Lighting Network Replacement

Replaced all ETC net2 equipment in the entire facility (4 performance spaces and lobbies) with ETC net3 and ETC Paradigm control. Coordinated and led contractors in the installation of this equipment.

Fire Department Permitting

Has worked closely with the administrative office of the Boston Fire Department and district inspector and chief to discuss and permit certain theatrical effects in an environment with strict regulations. Permits gained for drapery installation, atmospheric effects, smoking on stage, and other specific effects for theatrical productions.

Created Venue Information Website

Designed and implemented website to share information about the venue with prospective rental clients, staff, and anyone seeking to gain knowledge about any of the venues. Acts as website administrator constantly updating the site as the facility changes. Goal was to create a user friendly and self-service portal for policies, procedures, documentation, and facility information. I took long form documentation and boiled it down into easily digestible chunks with pictures to better convey information quickly and efficiently. Check it out at www.calderwood.info

Safety Policies and Procedures

Revamped safety procedures including the Emergency Action Plan and generating new signage and protocols for evacuation and emergency response. Instrumental in the design and implementation of fall protection systems in the Virginia Wimberly Theatre to make lighting positions safer to access.

COVID Response

Key member of the COVID-19 response task force. Developed safety protocols for the facility and served as COVID-19 Compliance Officer on multiple productions for The Huntington.

Cleaning SOPs

Revamped standard operating procedures for overnight cleaning of the facility. Attained GBAC Star Certification for the building for cleaning and disinfection in 2021.
